Telehealth is the distribution of health services through electronic information and technologies. In other words, it is a video conference about your condition. Dorset Physio is proud to offer Telehealth physical therapy services to our patients. This service allows us to provide consultations, follow ups and coaching to our patients in remote settings. Telehealth services may be most useful for those who have physical conditions and would like to explore the potential benefits of physical therapy. A Telehealth appointment can easily be scheduled allowing our licensed physical therapist to assess your condition and give you feedback on the best approach to recovery. Our initial Telehealth consultation is free of charge and a service we are proud to provide to our community. Check with your insurance provider as some cover Telehealth services such as VT Medicaid, Medicare, and BCBS of VT. Telehealth services also allow us to provide value added care to patients receiving physical therapy in our clinic. On the occasion that you cannot attend for reasons of travel, sickness or work, a telehealth visit can be scheduled to allow our physical therapist to provide coaching and guidance in a setting that is convenient for you.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Receiving a Telehealth consultation is very similar to a video conference. If you have ever used Skype on a computer or face time on your phone, Telehealth will feel very familiar. The only equipment you will need is a smart phone, laptop or computer with a camera and internet service. Our software does the rest. Once you schedule the Telehealth consultation, you will receive a link that allows you access to join the visit at the scheduled time. Each consultation is recorded in a secure format in accordance with healthcare privacy (HIPPA) regulations, and we use the platform doxy.me at this time. The addition of Telehealth services is one component of our comprehensive program designed to provide the highest quality of physical therapy to our community in the most convenient and cost effective manner. If you have questions about how physical therapy could benefit you and would like to schedule a Telehealth consultation, please contact our office via phone or email today.
I am so grateful for the caring, professional and systematic care Kelly gave me after each of my shoulder replacements!
I appreciated her explaining why I could not do twice as many exercises as I wanted when we first began my physical therapy. We all are over achievers desperately wanting to get back to normal as soon as possible. Kelly carefully explained the process of healing and rebuilding, muscles, tendons and ligaments and the need for systematic and timely exercises ensuring the results we both expect. Being able to relate and understand her plan gave me realistic expectations and goals for my recovery.
I am thrilled to report I have regained 98% range of motion back in each shoulder!
Susan of Dorset, VT
My son Zachary has received the BEST care from Kelly! She was able get him in right away with the first initial knee issue. She worked with him to build a plan to help with the strengthen the knee but also work on other weak areas. When he broke his ankle she and began the rehab of the ankle to get him back to sports ASAP! I couldn’t be happier with the care my son received.
