DRY NEEDLING

Pinpointing your pain for better recovery

Kelly Gaiotti PT, DPT, OCS is certified in Dry Needling by Masters in Dry Needling DN level 1 course and excited to offer this service to her patients.

Dry Needling is a highly effective form of physical therapy for the treatment of a multitude of musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions. Though it utilizes the same kind of needles, it is NOT Acupuncture (traditional Chinese medicine). Instead, dry needling  is based on neuro-anatomy and modern scientific study of the musculoskeletal and neuromuscular systems.

Dry Needling is performed by inserting a very fine filament needle through the skin and into the deeper tissues that are considered trigger points to your pain. It works by causing a micro lesion within the pathological tissue thus breaking up shortened tissues, inhibiting a reflex arc from the nervous system to the tissue, normalizing the inflammatory response, and centrally mediating the pain. This mechanical and neuromuscular effect provides an environment that enhances the body’s ability to heal which ultimately reduces pain. Free free to discuss if dry needling will be beneficial in treatment of your condition at your initial evaluation or next appointment.

At this time, dry needling is not covered by insurance. However, we offer this as a cash pay service to compliment your current treatment plan and offered only to current and active patients.

Contact us to inquire about pricing and scheduling an initial or re-evaluation at 802-867-7056.

PATIENT TESTIMONIALS

"Do what you do so well, that people can't resist telling others about you" - Walt Disney

Submit Your Testimonal

I am so grateful for the caring, professional and systematic care Kelly gave me after each of my shoulder replacements! I appreciated her explaining why I could not do twice as many exercises as I wanted when we first began my physical therapy. We all are over achievers desperately wanting to get back to normal as soon as possible.  Kelly carefully explained the process of healing and rebuilding, muscles, tendons and ligaments and the need for systematic and timely exercises ensuring the results we both expect.  Being able to relate and understand her plan gave me realistic expectations and goals for my recovery. I am thrilled to report I have regained 98% range of motion back in each shoulder!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT TYPES OF HEALTH INSURANCE DO YOU ACCEPT?

DO YOU TAKE MY INSURANCE?

Dorset Physio is In-Network with most local Vermont plans such as: BCBS of VT (most BCBS out of state plans are covered, please contact us for insurance verification), MVP, UHC/Optum (United Healthcare), Medicare, Medicare Supplement Plans (Part B), Green Mountain Care (VT Medicaid), Auto, and Worker's Compensation.

Currently we are Out of Network Provider with other insurance companies that are not on the above list. We recommend you contact your insurance company to determine if you have Out of Network Benefits for Physical Therapy. Co-pays and Payment are due at time of service. Cash Pay options are available if your insurance does not provide out of network coverage or benefits if you still wish to come to our clinic, or we can assist in finding you other options in our region. Dry Needling is not covered by any insurance carrier at this time. For more information about insurance and billing, please call our office at 802-867-7056 our email billing department at dorset.meg22@gmail.com

DO I NEED A PHYSICIAN’S REFERRAL?

Vermont is a Direct Access State, which means if you are a Vermont resident and have a Vermont Based Commercial Insurance Plan (ex: BCBS of VT, MVP, etc) you can likely come to us without a referral from your MD, DO, PA, NP, or ND.

If you have Medicare Plans, Medicaid (Green Mountain Care), Worker's Comp, Auto, or any Out of State Plans please check with your insurance carrier to determine if a referral if required and will likely need one and Dr. Kelly Gaiotti may prefer one to collaborate with your provider if  you are more medically complex to provide the best care for you.

DO YOU HAVE A NO SHOW/LATE CANCELLATION FEE?

Yes we do. In the event that you miss, cancel, and/or reschedule an appointment in less than 24 hours, you will be charged a $50 fee due at your next scheduled appointment. We also reserve the right to not see you if you are 15 minutes late or more and your appointment will be rescheduled and the no-show fee will be applied. Fee is waived ONLY if cancellations are due to illness or inclement weather. This policy ensures we can see all patients in a timely manner and deliver high quality medical care to those in need. Thank you for your cooperation.
